Cleaning Jewelry

  • It is always best to have your jewelry professionally cleaned and we would be glad to help when you stop by the store! We use several professional tools such as a speed brite, ultrasonic, and a high pressure steamer.
  • At home you should use ½ ammonia and ½ hot water, let the jewelry sit for 20 minutes and then brush with a toothbrush and rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not put emeralds, tanzanite, opals or pearls in any solution.
  • For Sterling Silver use “Tarnex” or a special cleaning cloth.

Holiday Buying

  • Surprising someone with jewelry is better than wishing you had!
  • Give yourself time. We can always special order something or have an item engraved, but keep in mind this is a busy time so shop early!
  • Ask family and friends for advice: they will be a good starting point.
  • Go "window shopping" together and see what stands out.
  • Come in and make a "Wish List" with us and not only will you receive $50 off a future purchase but you will be guaranteed that they will LOVE it!

Itchy, Red, Rash on your Ring Finger

  • These symptoms typically come from having water trapped with a mix of bacteria and heat. Take your rings off and wash your hands with an antibacterial soap, let your skin breath over night.

  • If your rash continues, treat first with an over the counter cortisone cream. If the symptoms persist you should see a dermatologist.

Getting Tight Rings Off
  • When you are not puffy from heat, exercise or salty foods try to remove your rings. If there is difficulty then squirt your finger with Windex and twist the ring over the knuckle.

  • Get into the habit of taking your jewelry off every night as it is best not to sleep in your jewelry, as damage can occur.

Finding the Right Bracelet Fit

  • One fingers width between the wrist and bracelet when it is allowed to dangle. The finger should be able to pass through easily
  • Any bracelet should be able to rotate slightly
  • When a bracelet is too loose it will snag, catch and eventually stretch putting unwanted pressure on hinge joints.
