We met Mike and Rebecca in 2018 when an estate engagement ring on Joint Venture Jewelry’s website caused them to visit us in Cary from their home in Charlotte. They were both so excited about forging their life together and symbolizing their union with a unique sapphire and diamond ring, one that would tell a story! We even helped them get sapphire earrings for the wedding day.
After they discovered and fell in love with the craftsmanship and value of buying estate jewelry with us, Mike continued to reach out for all his special occasion jewelry! Mike’s found some exquisite earrings, a cross necklace, even marked their move to Rhode Island, opening up a Bed and Breakfast, with a compass/navigational pendant from Joint Venture Jewelry.
“Working long distances has been a delight!” Mike exclaimed. “We’ve connected with Donna and her family over the phone, email, and even text with each other as we review options online and talk about the next special piece I want to give to Rebecca.”
In 2019, Mike happened to spot an exceptional sapphire ring in our collection and called checking to see if it was really as beautiful as the picture. Often times the photo doesn't do the piece justice as I couldn't stop raving about this ring! The color and quality of the sapphire were off the charts amazing with an elegant design.
When Mike gave it to Rebecca they both were overcome with its beauty. Throughout the year as she wore the ring, her friends often commented they were in awe of its radiance.
As 2020 evolved, the challenge of the times put a bit of a damper on any of their travel plans. By the late summer, Mike asked if there was any way we could find earrings that were as amazing as the ring. No small challenge, but we’re all about projects like this and always happy to source gems for our clients! Think of us as your personal jewelry concierge!
The first step was to search for two matching cushion cut sapphires that were as beautiful as the ring. Thanks to some great gemstone connections we found two options for Mike to view and he chose these!
The next task was to design earrings that would compliment the ring but not be too matchy. Rebecca also tends to be more casual so the design needed to be such that she could wear them while out touring the waterfront or attending a charity function. We settled on the design reflected in the rendering below.
While a rendering gives us a pretty good idea of the item nothing beats the finished product and especially Rebecca's reaction when Mike gave them to her!
