I had the pleasure of working with Mike and Jordan to find the perfect engagement ring. They first came into Joint Venture Jewelry together to get an idea of Jordan's style and preferences. Mike later returned by himself and started the fun design process with me to custom create the sapphire ring of Jordan's dreams. Mike and I worked closely together for several months, tweaking the design, incorporating details and family heirlooms that ultimately resulted in the perfect ring. But that doesn't even compare to the love these two share! Keep reading for Mike's story of how they met and how it popped the big question.

HOW WE MET:
Our meeting was truly a fairy tale, taking place in the same way as those unions seen throughout history and the books of lore. I'm of course talking about the internet dating app, Hinge. We'd planned to have our first date for brunch in Cameron Village. Jordan arrived first and put our name on the list, then stood outside waiting for me. As I approached the group outside of the restaurant, a scene known only to the silver screen unfolded before me... The crowd parted, the sun sent down a glowing ray, and the girl I would eventually ask to marry me turned slowly and locked eyes with me. The rest is history, as they say.

HOW I PROPOSED:
The plan kind of fell in my lap, quite honestly! I had a loose plan for asking her somewhere local and known to us, but the chance to plan a mountain weekend away came up while I was transitioning into a new job and we jumped on it! As it turned out, Jen had a connection for a photographer in the Asheville area, and he was able to recommend a gorgeous location for me to ask the question. Jordan and I hiked a few trails and ate at several local restaurants that weekend, before making our way to the Craggy Pinnacle just before sunset.
Trouble is, a MASSIVE thunderstorm had also made arrangements to be there that night! I'd convinced Jordan that these sunset photos were so important to me to get that night, even in the storm, and my girl was such a trooper agreeing to run up that trail with me. We both got completely drenched before lightning began cracking around us, forcing us to run back to the car. Panicked, I texted my photographer and asked for backup! He convinced me to wait twenty minutes for the storm to pass, and then continue on as planned. Sure enough, it passed! And sure enough, she said yes! On one knee, in the soggy grass, both of us soaked to the bone, I asked Jordan Lynn to be mine.
