We had a pleasure working with Jenelle on not one, but two custom creations! We took her inspiration, working together, to make her dream into her new everyday favorite jewelry items.
Ruby Ring
The first project was to create a ruby, band-style ring. She started her search online and when she was ready to pull the trigger, the online jeweler had already sold the ring. That's when Jenelle found Joint Venture Jewelry. New to the area, she was looking for a jeweler to use the inspiration of the "ring that got away" and find something similar if not better. Jenelle was looking for a ruby that had that deep red color, high quality, and more of a band style rather than a solitaire type of setting since it would be complimenting her low-profile bridal set.
Jenelle also wanted something with baguettes and a vintage feel to coordinate with her other everyday pieces. This ring was something special since it was going to commemorate both her 15th wedding anniversary, the traditional gift of ruby, and their baby girl born in July's birthstone. We ended up combining two different rings in our estate collection, pulling the ruby from one ring and adapting it to fit into the center of a vintage diamond baguette featured band.

"I came into your shop a complete stranger but Jen and Donna made me feel so welcome and you just jumped right in on the creative process, and by the time I left, it felt like you knew my style as well as an old friend!" Jenelle said of her first time in Joint Venture Jewelry.
"Jen showed me a stone that I fell in love with and then opened up the possibility of creating the custom ring with a vintage diamond band that I had never considered. The result was more spectacular than the other ring, and it is more special since it was designed just for me! Thank you for that experience!"
When working with Joint Venture Jewelry on custom projects, that can mean so many things! We utilize all the tools in our toolbox to come up with something that not only meets our clients' wants but also their budget and style preferences. We can use wax molds, computer-aided design, or even as we did for Jenelle, working from parts, combining them, to make something new, unique and so special! After Jenelle had such a great experience with the ruby ring, she came back with a new project in mind.
Citrine Necklace
Jenelle went gem mining with her family years ago and found a decent-sized citrine. The gem mine establishment polished the rough citrine and placed it in a simple sterling silver setting so Jenelle could wear it around her neck. And that's how it stayed for years, mostly in her jewelry box as it didn't really compliment her style. Flash forward and Jenelle was eager to find a unique setting to make her sentimental citrine into a necklace she would treasure. She found a vintage yellow gold seed pearl bar pin in our estate collection and thought it might just do the trick!

And boy did the end result wow us all! We played with lots of designs for the setting of the stone, since it was an abnormal size, this was a challenge. But that didn't hold us back! We looked at Jenelle's inspiration to guide us in sourcing the perfect mounting. She wanted something to protect the stone, so we opted for a bezel setting. Stylewise, she requested something with lots of texture and wanted to be sure the new setting complimented the vintage style of the bar pin. After a quick meeting with Jenelle to discuss options, we were able to complete this project within budget and timeline.
Jenelle's texture and setting inspiration:

As we have done with so many bar pins, we converted it to a necklace with a designated chain.
Jenelle loves her new necklace and can't wait to come back for more projects in the future!
