Bracelets are a tricky type of jewelry. Since everyone's wrists are different sizes it's hard to be sure the bracelet, especially estate bracelets, work for your individual wrist size. It's a completely different process to size a bracelet than a ring would be. But it's completely doable with Joint Venture Jewelry! When others say, "no way, it can't be done," we find a way to make it happen. We have a handful of different custom capabilities and we are happy to find a solution that's right for you and your bracelet!
This is just one of the ways Joint Venture Jewelry is your family-owned, local jewelry concierge. We are there for you and all your jewelry needs! We have two great examples of estate bracelets, two different clients fell in love with and wanted to purchase from our estate collection. The only problem was the bracelet were too small for their wrists. We used two different approaches to add custom links to enlarge the bracelets and the result will blow you away!

CAD Designed Links

This rare vintage diamond and sapphire bracelet is a special find. The problem was it only measured about 6 1/2 inches in length, on the small size as standard bracelets are about 7 inches. Adding links to this art deco design was a challenge. Fortunately, we have the resources to help. We took out a link, determined how many more were needed, and then went to work with our custom team.

The first step was to scan the link. The next step was to create a rendering using CAD, a computer-aided design program. The casting, setting of stones, and finishing work brought these new links to life. The new links are not exactly the same as the vintage, handcrafted links, but are very close to the original. And the best part is that our client can now wear this bracelet with joy.

Wax Mold Links

Another tool we love to employ is wax molds. This is perfect for custom wedding bands or in this case, textured jewelry. This bracelet features not only sapphires but also some unique textured links. While wax molds don't have the edit and tweak capabilities that CAD provides, it's a superior tool we use when replicating or matching is the priority goal.
After the molds were poured, cast, and finished, our repair team simply repined the links into the bracelet and it was whole again! The added links made this bracelet an everyday staple for our client! And it's hard to tell which links are the original and which are the wax mold created add-ons.
Bracelet Too Big?
On the flip side, do you have a bracelet that is just too big for your wrist? If it has links, stations, or is a line bracelet with set stones, we can remove a section and solder it back together for you. Oftentimes, we love to use the extra links as a pendant necklace or earrings to match your beloved bracelet. Bangle bracelets or hollow bracelets are the exception to this customization and often times we just aren't able to adjust. But set up a complimentary consultation today and let us take a look and together we can come up with different ways to customize your estate bracelet so it's a piece you can enjoy wearing.
